First Wednesday Mission Dinner

On December 5th, we had the honoring of serving Seacoast Church and our community at the First Wednesday Mission Dinner.   Lisa Bryant, our fundraising coordinator, spear-headed the event for us, and it was a HUGE success!

The dinner was one of the first times our team was able to come together and to meet with each other.   Almost everyone was in attendance as we served up big plates of Turkey Tetrazzini and salad for those coming to worship at Seacoast’s monthly praise and worship service.

Our motto for the event was:  When you pray BIG prayers, God responds in BIG ways!  And God proved us right!  Not only were we able to raise almost $1900 as a team to go towards our team costs, but this was one of the most successful dinners Seacoast has ever had!   We are so grateful to Lisa Bryant for her leadership and to all of our team members for working hard to make this event a success.

Next up….Our team will be serving you each Saturday and Sunday during the Seacoast Church Services at the Long Point Campus in the Mission CafĂ©.  Please stop by and order coffee, a smoothie or breakfast to help support our team.  Thank you for your continued support and prayers!

On a Mission....

Seacoast Church has been taking teams to Togo, West Africa since 2001 to partner with Pioneers Togo in their mission to reach the underserved areas in Togo. Pioneers works with the local churches and other mission organizations to reach people who have never heard the Gospel. Seacoast has been taking one medical team each year for the past 11 years, and the impact of these teams has been noted across the country. Starting in 2013, Seacoast will take a second medical team in hopes of making an even greater impact on the physical and spiritual lives of the people of Togo. Our goal is to continue to lay the foundation for healthcare in Togo by empowering communities to understand health and the role that having a relationship with God can play in their well-being.

We are honored to be able to return to Togo as we truly believe God continues to call us to this place.  Our team of 11 people will leave February 27th and return on March 10th.  We have an incredibly dynamic team of medical professionals that includes nurses, physician assistants, medical assistants, a physical therapist and a dentist.  We also have several non-medical people who offer incredible gifts to our team!

We will use this blog as a way to communicate with our church, our team and all of the people who are offering us support, both through prayer and through financial gifts.

Please keep our team in your prayers as we continue to prepare for what God has in store for us and for the people we will be serving in Togo!

Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the gospel. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
